It was both a happy and sad day last Jan 22nd, 2005.
Happy to see old friends and familiar faces. Sad to see the neglect and disrepair of the temples that were in the PRPC. Both templtes in Neighborhood 4 and 7 were destroyed. Lucky they did not destroy the buddhas and the angkor wat replicas. I think it would be difficult for scupltors to create one as intricate as the ones that are left standing. Am sure the BCDA officials could have done a better job in maintaining the temples.

Just happened on this blog today. Have to agree that they should have taken better care of the monuments. They were considered works of art!

I spent my vacation as a volunteer in this place 26 years ago. I saw a lot of the refugees who spent time in the place before their final destination. Most of them longed to see the place once more. If only our government will see the value of this place and turn it into an organized and funded museum, many of those people would come and this place will be bustling again just like old times.

Joe, Mon. As you probably know already, the area of PRPC has now been upgraded to an EPZA status. Same as Subic. It's now called the Bataan Technology Park, Inc. the area of the old "couples dorm" has now been renovated with a pool and additional deluxe rooms and is called Camp Kanawan and Sage hotel respectively. Unfortunately, only the major monuments are left and both temples have been dismantled. You should visit the place soon.
